Spring & 🐣 Easter Sewing Inspiration + Sewing For a CauseHello friends! Happy Spring! March's uneven temperament continues to display itself as most evident by the snow falling on the yellow buds of my forsythia bush this past week. But I'm okay with the fits and starts of spring as evenings are starting to stay lighter, longer and the world is slowly getting greener. I think real Spring is really on it's way. Fun Finds on the Web: Spring + Easter InspirationAll of this has put me in the mood for spring sewing projects. I like it when Easter doesn't hit until later in April - more time to savor that season. I've updated my list of 30+ of my favorite Spring and Easter sewing and quilting projects and ideas from around the web. There's a variety of fabric baskets, Easter decorations and accessories, as well as patchwork and foundation paper-piecing quilt projects. If your time is short this year, there's also lots of ideas for small or quick projects. Honestly, there's a something for everyone looking to get your spring mojo/sewjo going.

Quilting For a Good Cause - Quilt Drive for Kids in Foster CareWhen I was at QuiltCon in February I spoke to Stacey Lee who was kicking off her 5th annual drive collecting quilts for kids in the foster care system throughout the US. As part of the drive she's organized big giveaways from generous sponsors for those who contribute quilts to the cause. Click below to read all of the details for donating and entering. I've also included a list of some of my favorite, easy free quilt patterns that would be perfect for busting through some of your fabric stash for a good cause.

You can find all 9 free quilt block patterns here. ✂️ Reminder: It's the last day to get the Craftsman Pattern while it's 25% off! Sale ends 3/23. ✂️ Here's the latest report on my current sewing project. I've been making progress on my Checkered Garden quilt blocks that I started a few weeks ago. Here's where they're at so far! These blocks are so fun to make - it's bee really fun playing with different color and fabric combinations - which is one of my favorite parts of the quilting process. It's like each block is a mini quilt. I've made 13 blocks and I'm shooting for 25 for a 80" x 80"-ish finished quilt. You can read more about this block, the fabrics, and the tutorial I'm using in this post. My goal is to finish them so I can get it to the quilter and back in time for Easter. I haven't even minded the snow this week because it gives me time to stay inside and sew. :) Unfortunately I've also been dealing with some health issues (mainly ones that make it uncomfortable to sit down for long periods of time 😣) that have cramped my style a little, so I'm not progressing as fast as I'd like. I'm trying not to get frustrated with my aging body and just be at peace with where it's at. I feel like I'm wasting time when I need to take a break and rest. But, that's reality right now. Looking at these blocks still makes me happy. And the deadline isn't hard and fast, so it'll get done when it gets done. Wishing you all a happy week ahead. If you're also dealing with uncomfortable issues of any kind, I'm sending love and encouragement and patience-vibes your way. We all need them.
