Loads of Ideas for Precuts + Last Minute 4th of July Projects

Hello, hello!

First of all, I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact that it's the end of June. How are we half way through 2025?!

Brand new on the blog this week: Ideas for Precuts

A week and a half ago I was part of an online summit where I did an hour-long live presentation talking all about Precuts. The replay is now available on YouTube!

In addition to that, I've put together a printable list of lots of ideas for USING your precuts including free tutorials as well as fast and fun quilt patterns to get those beautiful collections off your shelf and into finished projects.

Click below to access the live video replay, the full list of ideas for Charm Packs, Layer Cakes and Jelly Rolls, including the printable PDF list!

Free Star Baby Quilt Tutorial

This free baby quilt pattern was one of the most popular patterns on my site last year. And speaking of precuts, this pattern is perfect for using 10" x 10" precuts (aka Layer Cakes).

It's a great one for using stash or making a cute baby gift quickly!

Quilt-Inspired Temporary Tattoos

Guest contributor Jennifer Worthen from Slightly Biased Quilts share a new quilt-y-inspired idea this week: Quilt-Inspired Temporary Tattoos.

Fun Finds on the Web - Last minute 4th of July small projects:

Not a lot of time on your hands, but still wanting to make something a little festive for the 4th?

Or maybe you have lots of red, white, and blue scraps lying around?

Here's a quick project for you. Check out this flag mini quilts tutorial designed by Ameroonie Designs - you could easily whip up a bunch in an afternoon.

Or this free mason jar stitchery design from Sew What Alicia.

These blocks are a little more time consuming, but you might get a good start on a cool, new project for next year:

Liza Taylor has a free Foundation Paper Pieced pattern for some cute Flag quilt blocks. I pulled out my scraps last summer and made a bunch just for fun. I need to pull them out and do something with them!

Speaking of FPP, I also absolutely LOVE these red, white, and blue Foundation Paper Pieced blocks from Leila Gardunia.

Reminder: Last weekend to get 20% off the Fly the Flag and Land That I Love patterns in my shop! (Discount already taken.)

It's been a busy week here. I just got back from a 3 day campout in the mountains with the teenage girls/youth group in my church congregation.

Oh my goodness, I am TIRED. And, until my shower, pretty filthy too. I had to scrub my feet good to get all of the dirt out from between my toes. And I was wearing shoes the whole time! Sleep was minimal, walking hiking was maximal (about 20,000 steps per day) and I am ready for a nap.

I'm definitely not the spring chicken I used to be. Nor do I have the stamina of a teenager anymore. (Bless them. Why is youth wasted on the young?)

But, being in the mountains, away from chaos and distractions, with a bunch of great teenagers, as well as a bunch of wonderful women volunteer leaders, and I'm emotionally rejuvenated and inspired.

Beautiful scenery, great people, and now a nap. All things to be thankful for.

Best wishes for the week ahead! And, as always, thanks for stopping by.

Take care,

Amy
