πŸ“Sewing Tutorials + An Antique Quilt Cut in Half and Reunited!

An Antique Quilt Cut in Half and Reunited! Plus Pool Tote Tutorial + Strawberry Project Ideas

Greetings friends! I hope life is treating you well. Thanks so much for stopping by. Today I've got an Antique quilt with a fun personal connection and a bunch of fun, simple πŸ“ summer sewing ideas.

An Antique Quilt with an Amazing Story

I am a big fan of antique quilts - especially those made by 19th-century women of the western migration in the United States.

They were hearty, heroic women who were used to doing hard things. I love that their quilts are a record of their artistic creativity and talents despite a rugged and often spartan life.

In honor of Pioneer Day here in Utah this week, I'm sharing a post about a pioneer quilt that was cut in half, how the two halves found each other again 150 later, and how I discovered my own personal family connection to this quilt.

I recently got to see in person and it was so spectacular. The story of the makers of this quilt is even better.

I'm late getting my newsletter out this week. My husband and I just returned from a special summer trip to visit friends. And it was pretty wonderful. I have to admit, I'm not super excited to be home. πŸ˜†

Here's a peek at a few of my favorite views. I don't think you'll believe where this white sand beach location was found. I'll share more details next week!

I'm also happy to report that the epic hike that I mentioned I was training for in last week's newsletter, happened! It was one of the hardest hikes I've ever done, and I'm so proud of myself. The payoff at the top was worth it!

In the mean time I'm rounding up laundry and fighting off jet lag so this newsletter is short and sweet.

I'll be back with more to share next week.

Have a great week! As always, thanks for stopping by.

Amy
